Patterson
Established as an early sawmill community and fur trade
center, the city of Patterson is now a quiet, pleasant residential
area.
The community is located centrally in St. Mary Parish and
is the home of the Harry P. Williams Memorial Airport, a
facility that boats a 5,400 foot runway and a seaway 4,400
feet in length.
Patterson is the birthplace of speed aviation, NFL running
back Dalton Hilliard and former baseball great Mel Ott.
It is also the home of Cajun Jack Swamp Tours, Christmas
in Kemper Williams Park and the Cypress Sawmill Festival.
Boating, fishing and skiing are all within easy access
of the community by way of the Lower Atchafalaya River which
borders the corporate limits.
Patterson has room for growth and is willing to discuss
the advantages and incentives new businesses can receive
when locating there.
