Established in 1974, Teche Action Board, Inc. is a nonprofit community based federally qualified health center. Our Teche Action Clinic was the first community health center in Louisiana to receive accreditation by the Joint Commission Accreditation of HealthCare Organizations . TAB, Inc. is the parent company of Teche Action Clinic in Franklin, LA; has other clinics in the region.  Teche Action Board, Inc. is a proud member of the following health care organizations: Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO); National Association of Community Health Centers, Inc. (NACHC); Louisiana Primary Care Association (LPCA); and the Bayou Teche Community Health Network (BYNET).

The Mission of Teche Action Board, Inc. is to continually improve its ability to identify and eliminate the unique health disparities of the residents of St. Mary, St. John, St. James, and Terrebonne Parishes. The residents of those parishes and surrounding areas will be provided safe, quality, culturally competent, comprehensive primary and preventive health care services, regardless of race, ethnic origin, age, sex, religion, or ability to pay (according to a sliding fee scale).  Teche Action Board, Inc. provides quality, comprehensive, primary and preventive health care to the communities of South Louisiana including medicine, mental health, obstetrics & gynecology services, dental nutrition programs, and pharmaceutical services.
