18-Hole Championship Golf Course
Atchafalaya Golf Course at Idlewild
Cotten Rd. at Hwy. 90, Kemper Williams Park •The newly opened Atchafalaya Golf Course at Idlewild has been masterfully crafted to take full advantage of its pristine location. Each of the 18 championship holes is named for a unique cultural feature within the Atchafalaya Basin, and over 40 species of indigenous flora thrive on site. One of the most notable features is the dramatic elevation created by designer, Robert Van Hagge, for spectacular views of the property.
The 7,533 yard, public course is surrounded only by nature without any residential community and features:
Five sets of trees
A complete practice facility
Pro line rental clubs
Expansive greens and exceptional course conditioning make The Atchafalaya the perfect spot for corporate outings or relaxing rounds. The raised Acadian-style Cottage clubhouse will open early 2006.
Atchalafaya Golf Course was listed in the Von Hagge, Smelek & Bariel Golf Course Architects Magazine and is listed as a part of the Audubon Golf Trail.
